'If only you could see what i've seen with your eyes'

- Roy Batty

Mega Retina Burn is an abstracted vision of the future and near term reality of our hopes, dreams and fears. An abundance of cheap technology, little understanding of the scale of effect this may have on the human mind, society and environment has seen us accelerate into uncharted territory.

A space, an air gap between the digital and the biomass, the last moment before we are hardwired in. An exploration of the fatigue and overwhelm of information scraped by your eyes into your mind. We strive for utopian promise that technology teases, yet build our dystopian nightmare through ignorance and greed.

Mega Retina Burn draws on an aesthetic heavily influenced by science fiction artists, matte painters and anime creators of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Where digital technology met art and film for the first time to create new worlds and ideas. These practioners have long predicted the future, science fiction has become science fact.

Using programable creation and production techniques, blending traditional and real time methodologies. Mega Retina Burn is an articulation of what has already arrived, what is to come, and where we are going.
